Hey George, many if not, all of us, like your blog and would like to learn how to do some of the things you've done to yours. Could you teach us readers how to make quarterly calendars, yesterday/today buttons, separate pages, ect....??? Thanks

Play the Town Game

A person names a city, town or village -- no matter how small. The next person has to name a city, town or village that begins with the letter of the last letter of that town.

For instance, let's say Prescott, AZ is first.

Second could be Tucumcari, NM.

Third could be Ithaca, NY.

Keep it within the area of Mexico, US, and Canada.

Okay, here goes.

Hi all:
I clicked on a link that is/was on George's web blog. This is it: http://www.coolrvtoyz.com/?gclid=COvZmPvGh5UCFSEragodr3H6qg This is a site where you get (according to there blerb) more than 50000 campsites, Camping World sites. Walmart & Supercenters. Cabella's, Bass Pro shops, Costco's. etc. etc.. etc I downloaded the demonsration version. All though it is not complete it does seem to be easy to use. I downloaded the one for my Garmin & also Microsoft Streets & Trips. I brought several of the files up on the streets & trips & I must say I was impressed. Has anyone here purchased the product? & if so do you think it is worth the money for it. (($50.00)).

George--Length of your stops?

George, I've started reading your posts from the beginning.

I am curious. In your early days you would sometimes stay in one nice boondocking spot for days.

In your later US posts, you would only stay one night, then always head up the road.

Did your feet just get itchier? :)

Any experience with cell vs. Datastorm?

That datastorm antenna and rig costs about $5000, looks frail, and I'd be afraid of it getting clobbered or stolen. Have you tried any of the Verizon or ATT, etc., cell network Air Cards? I'm guessing that a guy might have problems in the outback, like in deepest Mexico.

I have found that i have to check my Batters once a month here in Mississippi in the summer time, it's just so hot that the water evaporates. I check mind the first of the ever Month. Have a safe Trip, I check your post a few time everday.

Fulltiming Mexico

Seems ol' George is contemplating the same thing that this ol' fool has been "tinkerin' with" in my mind...Full timing South of the Border.

Seems an "only logical" option for those of us trying to live...and stay "mobile"...while on a "fixed" limited budget....It sure is "difficult" here..(.State-side)....even down here in Southern Arizona, where I have been "playing" these past 8 months.

Whatwith the prices of "everything" climbing like they are, it is next to "impossible"...and just going to get worse, it appears.

I have been talking with a lot of other RV people, those who have lived down there, and are "passing thru" on their way back down...as well as those, like myself, who have never been yet...but are now on their way. The "over riding" opinion is: Do It!

and Do It while fuel costs and everything else still allows ya to go!

This ol' fool intends to head South within the next couple of months. I have an "ex-pat" friend with a place down in Vera Cruz that he wants me to paint a wall mural on...I intend to follow him down in late September...and then just "play it by ear" after that...

I have another Artist friend lives further down the coast below Puerto Vierto...think I'll wander down and visit there while "in the area"...

who knows?...by the time Im "done" perhaps the dust will have settled back here Stateside...perhaps not...but who really cares?...at $2.70 a gallon...I can do a whole lot "more" down there...than up here at $3.81 (currently here in Tucson) !

RSS feed, onlt 1st post of the day shows up

Just a note about the RSS feed, only the 1st update of the day shows up in the reader, and later posts for the same day do not. So when I get the feed the next day, I look at the 'yesterday' button to read what I may have missed.

.. at how quickly George picked up where he left off?

I mean , 1 day he was chillin' at his son's house and posting every now and then. But the moment he has his feet on the ground he is back in his groove. Posting multiple times a day... Having Ms Tioga put thru her paces... Putting the band back together... Getting back on the road...

July 1st was a Great day. I'm glad you are back in your element George. Welcome Back!!

So glad you are back to your home base! I really missed your daily stories because they are just so darn cute and simple. You provide such an uplifting little boost to my day and I am just happy you are back safe and sound.

If not mistaken--every computer has a code called a MAC address. If the theif tries to go online---perhaps it can be tracked because of the MAC? I may be wrong--just recall reading something along those lines.

Wild and Crazy George

First we see George nude having breakfast with a young lady.
Then we find out he goes "commando" even when he does wear clothes. He destroys food and smuggles animals illegally.
AND NOW under his picture his caption had to be disguised with a different letter than what would normally go there because he insists on using an ADULT sexual word on the internet.
That George-comes back to the United States, doesn't skip a beat and back to being wild and crazy.

Georges popularity is so widespread, also the rumor of his demise, which I must say is such an unbelievable exaggeration, especially to those of us who follow him day by day. When I read the Woodalls Open Roads posting http://www.woodalls.com/forums/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/21560342.cfm I thought, people can sure get carried away over even a hint of something bad and never seem to blink at something really good.

What are you doing to cope with high gas prices?

Here's a topic most of us can relate to. (It'd be nice to have this forum busy again to welcome George.)

Now that gas has passed the $4 mark, like a lot of people, I'm trying to conserve what gas I can afford.

I combine errands to make fewer trips. I shop at stores closest to home, or on the way home, instead of running all over the place. I stop before grabbing the car keys and ask myself, "Do I really need to do this?"

I decided to cut out a vacation trip this summer. Knowing I'd be home, I planted a fairly large garden that is becoming a community garden. That's okay with me as I overplanted: 50 feet of tomatoes (no salmonella!), 30 feet of cukes, enough watermelons to wage a small war, cantaloupes, too, as well as zucchini and summer squash, oh yeah, peppers, too. The corn is chest high -- 20 times more than I need. So I'm happy to share with neighbors and friends.

The garden keeps me at home, and I don't need to run to the store for fresh veggies. Trouble is I now face a water problem! Here in the South we have to be careful with water use. Hard to believe for you people experiencing flood...

So it's conserve, conserve... gas and water. What's next? I hope not air.
